Saw this thread on Reddit.
I just resigned today. Without a job in the wings.
I have been thinking about resigning for weeks. I finally did it today. I feel guilty about leaving a job during a period where people are struggling to get employed. But the job was just too toxic. I need a break. I wouldn't encourage anybody to quit now without some adequate savings though.

I am also thinking about quitting. But I don't have the courage to do so. I struggled for years to get to my current position. It's still far away from my ideal job specialisation, but I am trying to climb my way up to it. It would be devastating to my career if I am to quit now. Sometimes, I wonder if I would be happier if I just abandon my job aspirations, and open up a cafe in a small town in Japan or something.

No. Just grateful I have a job at least. But my work is hardly high-stress. You have to decide what is best for you.
